Mimo smart Baby monitors reports nighttime activity levels

Digest: Mimo is a connected onesie that monitors a baby’s sleep and feeds the information back to parents using an integrated smartphone app.
Each year in the United States, about 4,000 infants die suddenlyof no obvious cause, many of them in their sleep. Mimo alleviates any fears parents might have by letting them know everything is all right and setting off an alarm when things are not.

How may Mimo help you?

Mimo baby monitor lets you see the things that you actually care about and are already checking.

  1. Respiration sensors are the softest and most comfortable sensors around. They let you check that your baby is breathing, no matter what they're doing.
  2. Temperature sensor, you can know that you've got your baby dressed properly, and that the A/C is working.
  3. The body suit records the motion of your baby so that you can tell how active they are.
  4. With medically backed sleep algorithms, know when your baby falls asleep, and how well they're sleeping.

How does it works

Mimo comes with three organic cotton onesies that act as respiration sensors, a toy turtle clip that monitors movement and a Wi-Fi base station shaped like a lily pad that is fully equipped with a microphone.

Kimono
Kimono
Mimo’s organic cotton kimono is fitted with non-contact machine washable sensors that measure a baby’s respiration. When paired with the Mimo Turtle, we can monitor your infant’s respiration, skin temperature, body position, and activity level. We send all this data to the Mimo Lilypad Base Station via infant safe Bluetooth Low Energy.

The Mimo Lilypad connect the Turtle to your home’s WiFi, allowing us to process your baby’s information in real-time using our algorithms. The Lilypad also has a microphone, allowing Mimo to stream your baby’s sounds to your smartphone in real-time.

The Mimo app enables parents to do three things: see their baby’s data in real-time; set alerts to let them know if anything changes; and to view trend and analytics about their baby’s sleep (and more!) over time. The app works for both iPhones and Android devices.

The World's Smallest Laptop Adapter

Laptops are supposed to be highly portable, right? But even with a built-in battery you're never leaving home without its power adapter—and that's usually a long cable with a hefty brick somewhere along its length. They're hardly compact, but this laptop adapter from FINsix is.

It looks like an elongated version of the tiny charger Apple includes with the iPhone, but it's able to provide a laptop with 65W of power. In comparison, the MagSafe 2 power adapter included with the MacBook Air is only rated at 45W.

And FINsix's adapter doesn't have a bulky brick anywhere along its flexible cable. What you see there is everything, well, almost everything. It actually includes a 2.1A USB port on the end, so you can also use this adapter to charge your smartphone or tablet. Brilliant Pricing hasn't been nailed down yet, but when it's available starting mid-2014, not even a hefty price tag could dissuade us from upgrading our current monstrous adapters for this beauty

Product Description
The FINsix laptop charger is a full-powered AC adapter that is four times smaller and six times lighter than what is typically found on the market today. The reduced size allows for a form factor which plugs directly in to the wall and only consumes the space of one socket. This eliminates the bulky "inline brick" implementation as well as the thick AC-side cord that is commonly found on laptop chargers. Also, with its auxiliary USB port for powering other devices, this adapter replaces your phone and tablet chargers as well.
